AU Law Alumna Appointed Minister of Culture

Assumption University of Thailand (AU) proudly congratulates H.E. Miss Sabida Thaiseth, alumna of the Thomas Aquinas School of Law (Class of 2003), on her royal appointment as Minister of Culture.

On Friday, September 26, 2025, representatives from AU and the Thomas Aquinas School of Law paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Miss Sabida Thaiseth at the Ministry of Culture in Bangkok. The visit extended warm congratulations on her appointment and celebrated her distinguished achievements as an AU graduate.

During the occasion, AU administrators, faculty members, and student representatives presented bouquets and gifts to the Minister. The cordial gathering reflected the University’s pride in its alumna while also reinforcing AU’s commitment to supporting cultural promotion, education, and cooperation with national agencies.

H.E. Miss Sabida Thaiseth, born in Uthai Thani province in 1984, holds both an LLB and an LLM from Assumption University of Thailand. Before her appointment as Minister of Culture, she served as Deputy Minister of Interior.. Her rise to national leadership highlights the impact of AU graduates in shaping Thailand’s future.

The Ministry of Culture is the government body responsible for culture, religion, and art in Thailand. Its main functions include protecting and promoting cultural heritage, fostering national identity, and developing cultural industries, an important mission that AU graduates like H.E. Miss Sabida now help lead.

This milestone not only celebrates the remarkable accomplishments of AU’s distinguished alumna but also strengthens opportunities for future collaboration between the Ministry of Culture and Assumption University of Thailand.
