WRITER: THE AU LIBRARY
On March 28, 2025, Bernadette de Lourdes School of Nursing Science (BLNS) at Assumption University of Thailand (AU) in collaboration with Blue Venture TPA Co., Ltd. successfully hosted a dynamic seminar entitled “Essential Soft Skills & Emotional Intelligence for Business Success” drawing participants keen on enhancing interpersonal skills and professional effectiveness.
Held at Hua Mak Campus, the event featured expert-led sessions which guided attendees through the foundations of emotional intelligence (EQ), highlighting its critical role in effective workplace communication and leadership. The guest speaker of this workshop was Mr. Piamsak Uraipan Shikegi, a distinguished Corporate Trainer and Consultant at SGS.
Emotional intelligence (EQ) refers to the ability to understand, manage, and effectively express one’s own emotions, as well as empathize and respond appropriately to the emotions of others. During the seminar, participants gained practical insights into applying EQ to navigate complex interactions and improve professional relationships.
The seminar also provided a comprehensive exploration of DISC communication styles, a behavioral assessment tool that categorizes individuals into Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, and Compliance styles. Attendees learned to identify their own communication styles and to effectively respond to diverse communication preferences in professional settings.
Interactive group activities were designed to foster adaptive communication skills, allowing participants to practice real-time application of learned concepts. Reflective discussions provided opportunities for attendees to share experiences, reinforce learning outcomes, and clarify practical applications.
The event concluded with a ceremony marking participants’ successful completion of the seminar, recognizing their commitment to personal growth and professional excellence.
